U7/U9 Bears - FUNdamentals
- To begin to develop a love and passion for the game of hockey.
- Make play and physical activity fun and exciting and an essential component of life.
- Acquire fundamental movement skills, (balance, coordination, quickness, mobility...)
- Practice cooperation & fair play.
- Station based practices.
- Puck touches with small area games emphasized with cross ice games at U7 & half ice games at U9
- 2 weekly 1 hour practices.
- 1 home tournament and 3-4 away tournaments with neighboring communities.
- Full participation at each practice/tournament is optional to fit each one of our families needs.

U11 Bears - Learn to Play
- To continue to develop a love and passion for the game of hockey.
- Introduction to formal local competition, with emphasis on fair play, and opportunities to try different events.
- Introduction to warm up/cool down, nutrition, hydration, and recovery including mental preparation.
- Continue to develop physical literacy; basic skating, puck control, agility.
- Use of small area games to develop core skills in decision making situations.
- Introduction to full ice hockey and skater specific positions with emphasis on each player trying all positions including goalie.
- Participation in multi sports encouraged.
- 2 weekly 1 hour practice with optional weekend practices at the beginning of the season.
- Birth years 2015, 2014
Jr Girl - Bears
- To continue to develop a love and passion for the game of hockey.
- Provides a viable stand-alone option for female players, but developed and scheduled to complement participation on Integrated teams if desired.
- Builds new and expand on existing relationships with other female players in VMHA and beyond.
- Focus on skill development and transition to full ice hockey.
- Provides opportunities to develop leadership and sportsmanship in a group of like-minded players.
- Provides opportunities to participate in exciting female tournament opportunities.
- 1 Weekly 1 hour team practice.
U13 Bears - Learn to Train
- Fostering a love of the game.
- What it is like to be part of a team.
- Continued development of basic skills (skating, shooting, passing, stick handling, checking)
- Further development of individual tactics.
- Introduction of team tactics.
- Goal of getting better personally and collectively as a team. This will not be based on wins and losses.
- Compete in North West District League Play.

U15 Bears - Training to Train
- Progressive learn to play teaching curriculum to create well rounded and skilled players
- Develops and refines technical skills, individual tactics, team tactics and team strategy
- Increasing use of body contact; learning to safely incorporate it into a competitive level of hockey
- Continue to grow a passion for hockey in all the players and a positive impression of hockey for the parents
- Play games for fun and physical activity as well as for competition, intensity and player development
- Character building to develop confidence and self esteem, emotional control, resiliency and work ethic
- the team has the option to play a recreation level of hockey or commit to a higher level of competition at the tier 4 provincial structure; this is decided upon each year by the coaches, players and parents
- 2 weekly 1 hour practices and if the team has chosen to play at the Teir 4 level there is a commitment to weekend practices and expected travel for games and tournaments
- Opportunities to advance competitive skills by participating in clinics offered by the North West District Hockey Association
- Continued development of nutrition, hydration and recovery including the mental aspect of the game, encouraging self motivation and independence to make good choices
- Opportunities for ongoing fitness development and team building off the ice in the summer, but multi sport participation is still encouraged.

U18 Bears - Training to Train
- To continue to develop a love and passion for the game of hockey.
- Opportunity to play with players from neighboring communities as Tri-City Team.
- Competitive tournaments.
- Continued focus on basic skill development.
